Tell a Friend Olympic Chinese Zodiac animals stamps issued

China issued on Tuesday a series of stamps to commemorate the Olympics and the Lunar Year of the Rat.

The year 2008 is an Olympic Year, as the Chinese put it. The 29th Olympiad will be held in Beijing in August 2008, and 2008 is the year of the Rat according to the lunar calendar. The issuer, the China Stamps Company, has skillfully integrated the 12 letters of "Olympic Games" with the 12 symbolic animals of the shengxiao calendar system.
